Durham University Boat Club
Founded in 1878, Durham University Boat Club has established itself as the premier rowing club in the North of England. It is also regarded as being one of the top rowing universities for both men and women.
With the introduction of ex GB coach Wade Hall-Craggs and his wife Emma, both the mens and the womens squad have a full time coach, as well as a fleet of new boats and the first class land training facilities available through Team Durham, the club has a promising future.
DUBC's training facilities play an important role in maintaining individual and club performance throughout the rowing year. Water-based training is carried out mainly on the River Tyne in Newcastle, although smaller sessions are fitted in around study on the River Wear. A typical week would involve training on the Tyne once during the week and on saturdays and sundays.
