Ponteland High School Rowing Club
Ponteland High School Rowing Club was founded in 1990 by Chemistry teacher Dr. Peter Hoare.
Since our inception we have always had a close working relationship with our host Club - indeed in our early years we could not have existed at all without the use of Tyne boats and other equipment.
From these very small beginnings in 1990 with a handful of members and no boats of our own, we have progressed to our highest ever membership of approximately 40 members, both boys & girls, ranging from ages 13 to 18. We now have a fleet of 4 quad sculls/fours, 2 doubles/pairs & 6 singles.
We compete at most local Regattas & Heads plus many other events further afield - e.g. Scotland, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Merseyside, Cheshire, Lincolnshire & the Midlands.
We are a Community School and as such the Club is open to any student or adult living in the community of Ponteland & surrounding area.
Please see our website www.phsrc.org.uk for further details.
